Old Friends

"Why papa?" Cole asked, pouting.

"Right, probably not a good idea..."

"Everything had been busy." Dante said softly.

Tyler nodded, "Yeah..."

"That no matter papa, it's your birfday..." Cole said, pouting as he looked up at Dante.

"Are all of them like you...?"

Dante kissed the top of his head, "Yeah, but family come first."

"You mean assassins?" Tyler asked.

"But you family." Cole said.

Evan nodded. "Yeah..."

Dante smiled softly and hugged him a little tighter.

Tyler nodded, "Yeah... James's are the biggest assassin family out there."

Jasper smiled as he watched them, gently rubbing Dante's back with one hand.

"Why...?" Evan asked curiously.

Dante smiled at him before smiling as Kari sleepily joined her twin.

"We have been one as long as can be remembered."

"I think you're missing one." Jasper chuckled.

Evan nodded. "You only go after bad people though, right?"

Dante chuckled softly as he hugged the twins close.

"Usally yeah, depend on the boss." Tyler answered.

Cole giggled, wrapping his arms around Kari before leaning close to Dante.

"...so you've hurt good people?" Evan asked worriedly.

Kari fell asleep again.
Dante smiled, "Your twin is sleepy."

"No not me... That's why I was stabbed."

Cole nodded. "She is."

Evan frowned, shifting slightly as if he was going to get up before deciding it probably wasn't a good idea and leaned back again. "Oh...I'm sorry." He said quietly instead.

Dante smiled, "It must of been from your walk earlier."

Tyler gave a small shrug, "Its a hazard in my work..."

Connor sat working on his laptop.

"Probably." Jasper nodded, reaching out to gently brush his fingers through Kari's hair.

"I guess so..." Evan sighed. "Just like every other job in this kind of business."

Having been looking around for him, Oliver paused in the doorway when he saw Connor, watching silently.

Dante smiled as he watched, Kari snuggled closer to her twin.
Tyler nodded, "Yeah.."

Connor paused to drink from his cup of tea.

"It was a big walk for her." Jasper said quietly.
Evan sighed, running a hand through his short hair.

"Is everything alright?" Oliver asked, softly, hoping not to startle him, knowing people didn't always know he was there at first, thanks to his assassin training.

"Where did you two go?" Dante asked.
Tyler pulled his hair into a ponytail.

Connor looked up ,"Hey brother, everything is fine..."

"We told you, you have to wait to find out." Jasper smirked.
Evan gave a small smile as he watched.

"Really?" Oliver asked. "Will told me you spoke to him earlier..."

Dante pouted at that, "Aww.."
Tyler leaned back with a small smile.

"Oh.." Connor said softly looking down, he hadn't thought about Will telling his brother.

"You have to wait." Jasper chuckled, gently poking his side.

Oliver slowly came closer, pausing a few steps away. "What's wrong?"

Dante squeaked softly at the poke and stuck out his tongue.

"I... Just didn't think he'd tell you so fast."

Jasper laughed and shook his head.

"He was worried about you, why wouldn't he?" Oliver said. "He only said you seemed upset though."

Dante leaned against him.

"He didn't tell you everything?" Connor asked.

Alex finished on his phone with Brayden.

"No, it's not his problem to tell people about." Oliver replied, shaking his head.

"Everything alright?" Artemis asked from where he was sitting.
