Warfare of The Heart

Jack grumbled as Nolee tossed him to the ground, taking Sheamus' arm.

"We should go back to the troops love," she smiled.

Sheamus smiled and nodded. "I'm sure they'd like to know that things are sorted out with Mason."

Nolee looked at Carter who had not moved from his spot, "Should...should we help him?"

Sheamus shrugged his shoulders. "If you want to..."

"He is my brother, of course I want to," Nolee softly said.

"Okay." Sheamus said, nodding.

Nolee took Carter's arm and pulled him up, the three walking back to the troops.

Sheamus was quiet as they headed back, going straight to his tent when they returned.

Nolee sighed and followed him into the tent, "What troubles you?"

"Oh nothing... Just a near death experience is all..." Sheamus muttered as he changed so that he could lie down.

"But you are safe now," Nolee said, crawling to lay next to him, straddling him.

"I know that," Sheamus said, giving a small smile. "But that still doesn't change what almost happened..."

"I would have died from lonliness and joined you soon," she replied as she put a hand on her stomach, "Sheamus...my love...there is something I must tell you..."

"What is it...?" Sheamus asked, frowning at the comment Nolee had made about dying, reaching a hand up to touch her other arm. "Is...something wrong?" He asked, worried.

Nolee smiled and took his hand, placing it over her stomach. A small smile came to her face as she stared into his eyes, "I am with child...that was the pain from this morning that I was in...the child..."

Sheamus stared back into her eyes, looking surprised. "R-Really...?"

"Aye," Nolee nodded with a soft smile on her face, "aye I shall have a child..."

Sheamus thought about it for a minute before grinning, wrapping his arms around Nolee; pulling her close.

"You...you are not mad?" Nolee quietly asked, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Why would I have been...?" Sheamus asked curiously, tilting his head slightly to one side.

"Because you are not ready to father children," Nolee softly said, "Carter says that father was angry when he found out mother was to have me..."

"What makes you think I'm not ready?" Sheamus asked. "I'm not your father....thankfully."

"You...you are a warrior...I do not think you are cut out to be a father..." Nolee softly said as she rubbed her stomach, "Do you wish for a son or a daughter?"

Sheamus frowned. "You've seen I have a softer side..." He said, running a hand through his red hair. "Um...I'm not sure..."

"With me yes but you will want that child to uphold by the customs of your people. What if it is a girl and she wants to be a warrior? You were okay with it from me because it was the customs of my people. Would you allow a Celtic woman into battle with you?" Nolee asked softly.
