Warfare of The Heart

"I'm not a dog, I'm a king." Sheamus growled before suddenly looking scared, realising how close he was to dying, muttering in his country's language.

Jack laughed at Sheamus fear until a loud cry of "LET HIM GO" roused him from his laughter. Nolee came towards them, worriedly, running as quickly as her legs would carry her, "Let him go he has done no wrong."

"But Nolee we saw how he had you," Jack frowned, putting a hand on his best friend and betrothed's shoulder, "Surely you want revenge for what he has done to you?"

Nolee shook her head, "He has not done anything that I have not asked of him. He is a good man and is the man I love. Now would you be so kind as to let him down!"

Jack shook his head and looked at the men, "you heard the princess."

Sheamus jumped slightly at the sudden loud noise, still scared, but looked hopeful when he saw Nolee.

Mason had followed Nolee and was standing nearby watching them, making sure they did as she said.

Nolee pulled Sheamus close to her, "Jack you and my brother should be ashamed! I told you both that I love Sheamus!"

Sheamus leaned close to Nolee, throwing his arms around her once he was untied. "Nolee..." he said, sighing in relief.

"I'm here love," she softly said, hugging him tightly, "I'm here."

Sheamus smiled, kissing Nolee before burying his face against her shoulder.

Nolee nuzzled his neck, "I...I love you..."

"I-I love you too..." Sheamus said, still recovering from how close he'd come to being hanged.

Nolee ran a hand through his hair, a smile on her face as she comforted him.

Sheamus hugged her tightly, slowly moving to get up after a few minutes.

Carter and Jack growled as Mason's men forced them to their knees. Nolee looked at Sheamus, knowing it was his right as a king to choose their punishments for such a thing.

Sheamus looked over at them, thinking about it for a minute before shaking his head. "Let them go..."

Carter didn't get up, sitting there dejected, "I have no home left. Just end it. Have mercy on a young man who has nothing left to return to."

Nolee took Carter's face in her hands, "You have me, a loving sister who will forgive you for your stupidity."

Jack rolled his eyes, "He's only sparing us so he doesn't upset Nolee!"

"No, I'm sparing yeh because I don't want to be like you." Sheamus said.

Jack sneered, "I am a high ranking officer in his kingships royal army. Your a king who kidnaps, loots, and pillages to get whatever you want."

"No, I'm a king who realised the only way to gain respect in this country is to make yeh all fear me." Sheamus said. "But occasionally there are people who are like you. People who assume that because I take villages and castles for my own after a battle that I'm a cruel person. If I were, I'd have killed Nolee when I first won."

"You might as well have. She's a slave now," sneered Jack, "she's nothing to royalty."

"That is a lie," Carter replied. "She's royalty. I can see the way he looks at her."

"If she were a slave, she'd sleep in the slave quarters with the rest of them." Sheamus said.

"Certain sources say that's where she started out," smirked Jack.

"Either way it's not where she is now." Sheamus said.

Jack rolled his eyes and leaned back.

Sheamus turned back to Nolee. "What now...?" He asked quietly.

Nolee walked forward and grabbed Jack's hair hard, "If you attempt to kill him again, I will have you executed."

Sheamus looked down to hide a smirk, straightening his tunic.
