Hate Love (for Nolee)

"Oh..." Cody said slowly, looking worried, Carter and Nolee both like family to him. "Its nothing too bad is it?"

"Oh no sis is just...well...a little cranky," Carter lied.

"She did that to you...?" Cody asked, frowning.

"She didn't mean to," Carter covered for his sister, "She and I just got into training this morning."

"Oh, right..." Cody said, nodding slowly. He had a feeling that wasn't exactly what happened, but didn't ask anything else about it, looking up up Lucas instead.

Lucas looked down at Cody, thinking the same thing. "Maybe you should talk to her before we leave?"

"About what...?" Cody asked quietly, looking confused. He had a feeling he knew what Lucas would say, but was hoping he was wrong.

"About the fact that you two would have never worked out or something," Lucas shrugged.

"I would have no idea what to say..." Cody said, sighing. He frowned and hung his head, running a hand through his short hair. "What if I just upset her more?"

"You have to at least try," Lucas shrugged, "he's your best friend."

"I know, I know..." Cody sighed. "What am I supposed to do though? I upset her..." He added, looking guilty.

"Tell her you didn't mean to or something..." Lucas shrugged.

"She should know I'd never mean to upset her..." Cody said quietly, looking at his feet. "I'd never intentionally do that."

"She's probably just angry right now because it feels like you're abandoning her," shrugged Carter.

"What?" Cody frowned, looking guilty. "How am I abandoning her exactly...? It's not like I'm leaving..."

"Well...you've always been there for her. You know, the gay best friend deal. She didn't know you were gay so she thought you were interested in her." Carter replied, speaking as if he had gotten the answer straight from his sister, "When you said that you were in love with Lucas, it broke her heart. Maybe if you explain to her that you'll still be there for cheesy movies and ice cream and things like that, she'll understand that nothing between the two of you is going to change."

"I never thought of it like that..." Cody said quietly, sighing. "She knew about Ted though didn't she, so why wouldn't she know?

"She may have thought you and Ted were forced to be together," Carter shrugged, "I mean, it wouldn't have seemed that out there would it?"

"Well...no, probably not,"Cody frowned. "Not when she knows how he ended up treating me."

"Exactly," Carter nodded, "So why don't you go talk to her before your flight. If you miss it, I'll drive you there in sis' jet personally."

Cody was quiet as he thought about it, eventually nodding. "I guess I probably should..." He said slowly.

"I'll wait here for you," smiled Lucas as he kissed Cody on the cheek.

"Alright," Cody said, smiling up at Lucas, hugging him before going off to find Nolee.

Nolee sat in the training room, trying to wrap up her hand after breaking the mirror.

Once he found her, Cody hesitated in the doorway, watching her nervously. "...Nolee?" He eventually tired.
