Warfare of The Heart

"Uh...well I've crossed paths with the family in the past." Sheamus answered, not looking at Carter. "We have one of them here..."

"Which ones exactly?" Evan asked.

"You do?" Carter asked, "show me to him?"


Nolee shrugged, "Lets start with the man that was killed."

"I can do that, I don't think he's up yet though." Sheamus said as he looked around, frowning.

"Cena?" Evan asked nervously. "What...what about him?"

Carter nodded, "I could have sworn that the house of McIntyre only had one male child."


"Whats wrong? Why does that name conjure fear?" Nolee asked.

"Yes...as far as I know Drew's the only one." Sheamus nodded.

"Well I told you earlier he wasn't exactly friendly..."

"Then it had to have been him," Carter frowned, "You say he was a part of your men. He pressed Mason to attack."


"That's true," Nolee replied softly, "But not friendly enough to be killed?"

"What?" Sheamus asked, frowning as well. "Yeh really think he'd do that? I mean...he may not have even known about his family makin' the arrangement..."

"I don't know," Evan answered. "That's probably more something to ask Heath; I didn't know Cena that well..."

"I'm telling you what I saw and heard with my own eyes," shrugged Carter.

"Who is Heath?" Nolee asked.

"When was this?" Sheamus asked, trying not to look angry, having to force himself not to get up and go looking for Drew that second.

"The one Cena was training," Evan told her. "Hard to miss him with his hair, almost as red as the king's."

"A few weeks ago, couldn't have been any longer," replied Carter, "Do not act brashly. Perhaps we don't speak of the same man?"


"Is the red hair a bad thing?" Nolee asked, "In my culture, anyone with red hair is considered a demon. Surely with your king you do not think that way."

"He better hope not..." Sheamus muttered angrily, tightening his grip on the bowl in his hands.

"Oh no, we know better than to think that with a king like him." Evan chuckled. "Either way Heath would probably be considered anything but a demon by those who know him."

"Is he a close advisor of yours?" Carter asked, looking at the grip that Sheamus had on the bowl.


"Is he a cold and cruel man?" Nolee asked, "Is that why he's thought of as a demon?"

"Not really," Sheamus replied. "He just has a habit of getting on my nerves."

"Who, the king?" Evan asked her, looking confused.

"I can tell," replied Carter as he looked at the bowl in Sheamus' hands.


"No, Heath. You said those that knew him would consider him a demon."

"He does it a little too often for my liking." Sheamus sighed, slowly relaxing.

"Oh, no... I meant that's the last thing people would think to call him." Evan mumbled, looking embarrassed. "I probably should have worded it better..."

"A strong leader knows when an ally is more of a hassel," shrugged Carter.


"I'm sorry I misunderstood," Nolee replied, "You shouldn't be embarrassed."

"What do yeh mean?" Sheamus asked, not quite understanding what he meant.

"I've been told many times I don't explain things clearly it's not your fault." Evan mumbled.

"A strong leader knows when he needs to banish men," replied Carter softly.


"Oh no, no, no. This was my problem," Nolee replied softly.

"But he's a good warrior..." Sheamus frowned though he knew Carter was right.

Evan shook his head, but smiled a little. "No it wasn't..."

"Being a good warrior does not excuse what sort of person a man is," shrugged Carter as he leaned back against the tree behind him.


Nolee smiled and held his hand as they came back to sit at the fire, "What are we speaking about boys?"

"I know..." Sheamus sighed, going to say something else before he noticed Nolee, going quiet on the topic instead. "Uh, nothin' really..."

Nolee smiled, "Are you quite sure my love?"

Sheamus stayed quiet for a minute before nodding, deciding to leave it for now. "I'll tell yeh later..." He said quietly.

Nolee nodded and leaned against his leg, "I have made a new friend love. His name is Evan."

"Oh yeh have?" Sheamus said before smiling and nodding. "Yeah Evan's pretty friendly, when he ain't being shy. I don't really think he's one for fightin' to be honest, he's always seemed very er...childlike to me..." He added, frowning slightly.
