First Night On The Job

Franie kepted humming, hopeing Jacen would be back soon.
Alex closed his eyes before looking at Austin. "H-Hello..."

Jacen came back a few minutes later with a box in his hands. He put it on the floor before sitting back down, Artemis watching him curiously.

"Oh what's wrong? Aren't you happy to see me?" Austin asked, chuckling.

Frankie looked at him curiously as well.
"What are you doing here....?" Alex asked trying not to sound scared.

Jacen gave a small smile before reaching into the box, pulling out a kitten.
Artemis smiled properly for the first time since Austin came when he saw it and reached his hands out for it.

"What do you think?" Austin said. "Your stupid assassin boyfriend pissed off someone I work for..."

Frankie smiled at the small kitten.
"A-Arty.... Where is he?" Alex asked, the brave voice slipping.

Artemis moved closer to Jacen, smiling softly as Jacen gave him the kitten, gently petting it.
Jacen smiled and sighed in relief when he saw Artemis smile.

"Why should I tell you that?" Austin said, wanting to scare him.

Frankie smiled at Jacen.
"P-Please..... W-Where is he...?" Alex asked softly.

"We used to have a cat when we were little that Artemis carried all over the house," Jacen explained to Frankie. "Our house was burned down after we lost or parents so we lost it too..." he added quietly.
Artemis was too busy petting the kitten to hear what Jacen was saying.

"What makes you think I'll say?" Austin asked.

Franki nodded again.
Alex swollowed hard before sitting up slowly, he looked even move scared when he saw Dante was there. "W-Why do you have m-my son..?""

Jacen went to say something else, but stopped to watch Artemis, who giggled as he let the kitten climb on him.

"Because hhe stupidly came outside looking for you."

Frankie smiled and took Jacen's hand.
"L-Let him go please.... Please?" All but begged Alex.

Jacen smiled and moved closer to Frankie, leaning against him.

"No." Austin said.

Frankie wrapped his arm around him.
"What are you going to do?" Alex asked.

Jacen sighed softly and relaxed a little, having been worrying about Artemis.

"He is going back to Mason." Austin said.

"What do we do now?" Frankie asked softly.
"N-No please no.... Y-You can't please....." Alex said teared up.

"We think of a plan to get them back." Jacen said quietly. "I don't want anyone just rushing over there after last time..." he added with a sad look.

"Aww why not?" Austin asked mockingly.

Frankie noddded, "Maybe we should ask the James's for help?"
"He can't go back there.... Please let Dante go please..."

"That would probably be a better idea." Jacen nodded.

"So you'd rather he stay with me?" Austin asked with an evil grin.

Frankie nodded and called Angel.
"N-NO!" Alex said, panicing at the evil grin.

Jacen curled up against him, closing his eyes.
Artemis was playing with the kitten, distracted for now from what had upset him.

"Well then, Mason it is." Austin chuckled.

Frankie sighed softly.
Alex buried his face in his hands.

Jacen pulled a face after a few minutes before moving to get up.

Austn grinned as he watched.

Frankie watched.
Alex stayed that way, trying not to cry.
dante was curled up tight.

Jacen got up and walked off, mumbling something about a headache, going to look for something to take for it.
Artemis looked up as Jacen walked off, frowning slightly. "Is he okay?" he asked Frankie.

"I.... I'm not sure....." Frankie said softly.
"Someone should probably tell Jasper." Angel said as she walked in.
