Hate Love (for Nolee)

Cody smiled and nodded, moving closer to hug Lucas, burying his face against Lucas' chest.

Lucas ran a hand through Cody's hair, "I love you so much."

"I love you too," Cody said, relaxing against him. "Unless you're talking to my hair." he joked.

"Yes Cody," Lucas said mocking seriousness, "I'm having a love affair with your hair."

"Maybe you're jealous I have some?' Cody laughed before kissing Lucas' cheek. "I know that's not what you meant, don't worry." He said with a smile.

"Ouch," Lucas mocked, "that was a low blow." He laughed and decided to play to Cody's base jealousy instinct. "You know...I was your age when I started losing my hair..."

"What?" Cody frowned, looking worried. "You're joking, right? I...I'm not even that old..."

"I'm joking," laughed Lucas, "I was in my early 30's when I started balding."

"That's still not that long..." Cody said, pouting, looking worried that it actually would happen to him too.

"And my family has never had a man keep his hair past the age of 35," Lucas smiled, "your fine Cody. It probably will never happen to you. You would have noticed the signs if it were. Besides, being bald isn't so bad."

"Why haven't they?" Cody asked curiously before frowning. "It can be to some people though, especially those who grew up how I did..."

"It's just a family thing," smiled Lucas, "nothing huge. And I'm sorry you grew up that way."

Cody nodded to show he understood before responding to Lucas' apology. "I haven't exactly had the easiest of lives, compared to people with normal jobs...but if I had, I wouldn't be here now." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"I wish your life would have been easy," smiled Lucas softly.

"So do I..." Cody said quietly. "But we can't exactly change what's already happened."

"But we can change the future," Lucas replied.

"I know," Cody said, smiling. "You already have changed it..." He added, kissing Lucas gently before relaxing against him.

Lucas smiled deeply and kissed him, "Love you."

"I love you too." Cody chuckled before moving closer to Lucas, relaxing against him.

Lucas grinned, "You know, we technically still have a flight to Atlanta to catch."

"I know..." Cody mumbled, yawning. "But I booked it for tomorrow, remember?"

"Now I do," Lucas sleepily mumbled, "now I do."

"Good." Cody smiled kissing Lucas' cheek before lying curled up against him, slowly closing his eyes.

"Sleep," Lucas softly whispered, "It'll do us all some good."

"I know..." Cody said tiredly, nodding. "Have to get up kind of early anyway..."
