A Supernatural Hunt

Morgan sighed sadly, worried for his sons.

Mason sighed softly, "You mean the experiments he always worked on?"

Alex nodded slowly, "Very okay."

"...what if we can't though?" Carmen asked, looking up at him.

"No, not that." Marco shook his head. "Well...probably. But his power. That's what it does- uh did..."

"I see." Artemis said quietly, pulling away so he could look up at Alex properly.

Morgan sighed, "I don't know... Dante was always loyal enough that he would if he had too... But he's supposed to be in love with a vampire now... I don't want him to give up his happiness..."

"Yes?" Mason asked, hoping Marco would be able to get it out.

Part of Alex froze, his mind telling him that Artemis was going to reject now. Rejection wasn't impossible and he knew it was more likely with none kitsune soulmates.

Carmen slowly nodded, agreeing with him. "We can't force him to do it; especially not now."

"Alistair's power allows him to cause others pain." Marco explained, pulling a face.

"What is it?" Artemis asked when he saw Alex freeze.

Morgan rubbed his forehead, trying to think.

Mason frowned at Marco's words. "Cause pain..."

Alex bit his lip softly, finding it hard to explain his fears.

"What is it?" Carmen asked as she watched him.

Marco slowly nodded. "Yeah..."

"...Alex?" Artemis said after a moment, sounding worried.

"Trying to think... Of a way out of it." Morgan answered.

"You killed him right? What happened to that shifter he kept?" Mason asked.

"Sorry..." Alex said softly, hating he worried Artemis.

"Oh." Carmen sighed. "Any ideas?"

Marco nodded before frowning. "Eventually... The shifter though, I'm not sure about."

"It's fine." Artemis shrugged.

Morgan shook his head, "Not unless we lose the alliance..."

"You think his shifter got away?" Mason asked curiously.

Alex nodded slowly.

"Hmm." Carmen frowned. "We can't really afford that..."

"Possibly." Marco said with a nod.

Artemis smiled and hugged him.

Morgan frowned and nodded.

Mason nodded, "Well then its gone, was there anything else in his lab?"

Alex smiled softly and hugged back.

"Uh...we didn't really end up looking." Marco admitted, leaning away slightly as if worried Mason would be angry.

"You don't mind if I stay sitting here, do you...?" Artemis asked after a bit.

Mason nodded, not angry at all. "Then send Austin to look, don't need anything trapped in there."

"I don't mind." Alex answered softly, he hoped Artemis was sit for a while.

"Yes sir..." Marco nodded, turning to go instead of going over to Mason like he normally would.

"You don't?" Artemis asked, smiling.

Mason watched him, wondering why he was leaving.

Alex nodded with a smile. "Yeah."

Marco paused after a moment, hesitating before turning back around, heading back over to Mason.

Artemis nodded to show he understood, shifting after a moment to lie with his head in Alex's lap.

Mason reached his hand out to him, wondering if he was okay.

Alex carefully started to play with Artemis's hair.

Marco shuffled closer so that he was within Mason's reach and gave a small smile.

Artemis relaxed at the touch, making a small, happy noise.

Mason smiled at Marco before carefully pulling him close.

Alex smiled happily as the happy noise reached his ears, he continued to play with his hair.

Marco let Mason pull him close, absent-mindedly leaning against him afterwards.

Artemis blushed slightly after seeing Alex's smile and reached a hand up to touch the Kitsune's cheek.

Mason smiled to himself as Marco leaned against him, wrapping his arms around him.

Alex leaned his head into his hand, his tail would of been moving if he had been transformed.

Despite his earlier hesitation, as Mason wrapped his arms around him, Marco couldn't help but slowly relax.

"I um...I missed you..." Artemis said quietly after a moment.

Mason smiled when he felt Marco starting to relax.

"I missed you too..." Alex said shyly, he had missed everybody greatly and Artemis the most.

"Sorry." Marco muttered after a moment.

Artemis responded with a small smile before moving and carefully sitting up. He turned back to sit facing Alex and hugged him.

"You don't have to be sorry." Mason said softly.

Alex hugged back, smiling as he leaned into the hug.

Leo looked at Joseph's wound.
