Old Friends

"Never mind..." Peter said with a soft sigh.

Dante relaxed and closed his eyes.

Aiden frowned and slowly looked away.

"Should we see if your uncle's awake while we're up here?"

Peter didn't know how he was honestly supposed to feel anymore.

Dante smiled and nodded, "Yeah."

"Come on..." Aiden said, holding a hand out to him.

Artemis smiled and walked with him to Jacen and Frankie's room, quietly opening the door. "Jacen...?" He said, frowning when he didn't see him.

Peter slowly took the hand offered to him.

Dante frowned softly, "He's not in here daddy..."

Aiden started walking with him before slowly letting go of his hand.

Artemis went over to the bed to wake up Frankie. "Hey! Where's Jacen?"

Peter trailed behind a little, thinking.

Frankie sat up, "Jacen!" He looked around.

Aiden paused after a moment to look back at him. "I can't do my job if you're back there..."

"Where is he!?" Artemis asked, sounding annoyed.

"Oh... Sorry I was just thinking..." Peter said as he moved in front.

"He must of gotten up for a smoke..." Frankie said as he got up.

"About what?" Aiden asked, relaxing a little once Peter was in front.

"I hope that's where he is..." Artemis muttered.

"Just things... Like Jake and how he's been doing lately."

Frankie hurried down the stairs, "Jacen?"

"What about him?" Aiden asked.

Artemis frowned and quickly followed.
Instead of Jacen being there, Mikey was just coming out of the kitchen with his son in his arms.

"I wonder if he will ever get married..."

Dante followed as well.
"Mikey have you seen Jacen?" Frankie asked worriedly.

"Why's that? ...you think he won't?"

"Um..." Mikey started, looking nervous. "I did...earlier."

"I'm afraid he'll turn out as bitter and lonely as me..." Peter answered.

"Where?" Frankie asked quickly.

Aiden let out a sigh. "You aren't bitter..."

"He got up early...for once." Mikey said. "He mentioned something about that Peter guy..."

"Then what am I?" Peter asked.

What?!" Frankie asked with wide eyes.

"You-" Aiden started, stopping when he heard a noise.

"I think he took his gun he keeps in the office..." Mikey said quietly, hugging his son close.

Peter looked up at the sound.
Frankie cursed and ran out the door to look for Jacen, trying to call his cell phone.

Aiden went to reach for his gun, freezing when he saw one already aimed at him.
Artemis leaned against the wall, biting his lip s he panicked.

Peter swallowed softly, "Hello... I take it your here to kill me?"
Dante bit his lip as he hugged his father.

"Not if you give me what I want." Jacen growled, his gun still pointed at Aiden to stop the bodyguard getting his own out.

"Why...why would he just go off on his own like that?" Artemis asked, wrapping an arm around himself as he leaned against Dante. "And...and on your birthday..."

"Jacen... I don't have the little one... I never did, I was out of town before that even happened... I think I know who has him if they weren't lying to me... A-And if I turn out to be the father I can get him back for you..." Peter said truthfully.

"I d-don't know daddy... Should we tell papa?" Dante asked worriedly.

"Who does then?" Jacen asked angrily before lowering his gun a little, trying not to look upset. "You...you think it's y- Wait, him?" Jacen said, taking a small step back with one foot. He'd never had a chance to meet his child, having been out of it at the time.

"I...I don't know," Artemis mumbled, moving to sit down on the floor, his back against the wall he'd been leaning against before. "We need to find Jacen..."

"I think its Raven who has him... But they may of changed that, there was a group of bosses and I only knew Raven... And yeah... Its a him, at least that's what Raven said." Peter said softly, his eyes sad.

Frankie fell to his knees on the sidewalk a few blocks down, he didn't know where Jacen was and he was worried.

Dante sat next to his father and curled close, "I'll go out looking daddy."
