Brett nervously followed Harris to the study.

Once Swagger, Brett and he were in the office, Harris closed the door. "So you both love my daughter?"

Swagger sneered, "you know I love her. I've loved her since we became engaged at a young age."

"Sire.... I have loved my lady since i first saw her, i know you probably think i am not good enough for her but i love her dearly." Brett said softly.

Harris smiled at the tone in Brett's voice. "I have heard all I need to." He looked at Swagger coldly, "You want to wed my daughter out of greed and power while you," he turned to Brett with a kind look on his face, "Truly love my daughter. Brett, ask for her hand and you may have it."

"What!? This is an outrage!" screamed Jack.

Brett smiled happily "Thank you greatly sire." He said before bowing and going out to Nolee, "My lady i humbly ask for your hand."
Adam carefully watched Swagger, he didn't trust the man.

Nolee threw her arms around Brett's neck, "Oh yes! Yes I will wed you!"

Swagger seethed, "This is an outrage! You and your wife both said that I may wed her when we were both young! And now, since you have your new plaything, you have thrown that promise aside!"

"He is NOT a plaything," Harris shouted back.

Adam felt his cheeks redden at being called a plaything.

Nolee laid her head against Brett's chest, "I love you."

"He IS a plaything!" Swagger shouted.
Harris punched Swagger who staggered back, "He. Is. NOT!"

Adam moved to protect Harris as Swagger moved back towards him.
