A Supernatural Hunt

"But not why...?"

Jasper put a hand on his shoulder, leading him back out into the living room.
"Is he always like that?" Artemis asked quietly.

"No... Of course no one tells me anything."

"Alex is really caring about the angel isn't he?" Dante asked softly.
Alex gave a mix of a nod and shake as to try and say sort of.

"Oh." The fae hesitated before giving a small smile. "I could tell you one thing..."

"I think so." Jasper nodded.
"Hmm?" Artemis said, confused.

"Yeah?" Jayden asked shyly.

Dante smiled softly.
Alex slowly shifted back, "Sort of... He likes to tease."

"My name..." The fae said quietly. He brushed a hand through his long hair nervously. "I never told you. It-it's Dominic."

"With any luck, it'll work out okay." Jasper said.
"Oh..." Artemis nodded, blushing and quickly letting go of Alex when he realised he still had his arms around him. "Sorry." He added shyly.

"I like the name Dominic." Jayden said shyly, "Nice to meet you."

Dante nodded, "I hope it does."
"Its okay." Alex said softly.

"You do? ...uh, thanks."

Jasper smiled. "I think maybe it'll be good for them both."
"Didn't know you were going to change back." Artemis mumbled.

Jayden smiled shyly before looking back at his tape.

Dante smiled softly.
Alex nodded slowly before looking down, part of him wondering if Artemis was pushing away.

Dominic stood there watching him for a moment before frowning. "What do you think that Alistair guy has me here for?"

"Sorry," Artemis said. "I-I don't want to do anything that you don't want me to..."

"I don't know... Sometimes he brings in being's as bait or like me..." Jayden answered softly.

"I-Its okay." Alex said softly, looking up.

"Bait?" Dominic frowned. "Bait for what?"

"It is...?"

"Probably for his original target... He chooses carefully and tails future test subjects carefully... That's why your brother had a file..."

Alex nodded and looked at him, "Yes."

"Why would they want my brother?" Dominic asked, frowning.

"Oh..." Artemis nodded.

"Maybe he thought your brother had something he'd want."

Alex nodded as well.

"Why? He's not exactly the most popular fae..." Dominic frowned. He didn't mean it in a bad way, he was just going by what others had said.

Artemis shifted his feet nervously not sure what to do.

"Well does he have any gifts or powers?" Jayden asked softly,

Alex nervously looked down again.

"Of course he does, he's a fae."

Artemis looked up at him before hesitantly moving closer to hug him.

"What can he do?" Jayden asked, half listening to the tape.

Alex slowly stepped forward as well.

"He turns into animals." Dominic said.

Artemis gave a small smile and hugged him.

Jayden blinked, "He wants to study how your brother does it..."

Alex curled close into the hug.

Dominic frowned. "But why?"

Artemis slowly relaxed against Alex, tightening his arms around him.

"Well all the work he did on me was lost... He's looking for new ways...."

Alex shyly rubbed his cheek against him.

Dominic bit his lip nervously. "So he wants my brother for that?"

Artemis chuckled and looked up at him.

"Its most likely yes... Sorry..." Jayden said softly.

Alex's eyes were closed as he stayed curled close.

"Not your fault." Dominic sighed.

Artemis shyly reached a hand up and touched his cheek.
